The client needs Medicaid, an Adult Services application path, medical information, and an assessment. The caregiver needs to meet provider enrollment requirements before services can be paid.
Michigan’s official Home Help information says individual caregivers are direct care workers employed directly by the Medicaid beneficiary and that they must have CHAMPS enrollment approved to be reimbursed. The state also allows an individual caregiver to associate with an enrolled Home Help agency.
