EVV is not the same thing as getting approved for Home Help
EVV comes after the basic program questions. The client still needs to qualify for Home Help and the caregiver still needs provider enrollment. EVV is the operational system used to verify certain personal-care visits once services are being delivered.
For individual caregivers, Michigan’s current guidance says HHAeXchange+ mobile app or IVR/telephony can be used in the state-offered solution. The state also says live-in caregiver situations may be exempt from EVV under current policy, but those caregivers still continue the required service verification method.
Agency caregivers follow agency EVV procedures and training. Michigan specifically states that agencies are responsible for preparing and training caregivers to use EVV.
